Did you know that Oregon families with children ages 0-5 can receive free books to read each month?
In May, Governor Tina Kotek announced the continuation and expansion of Dolly Parton's Imagination Library across all Oregon counties; the goal is to provide books to children ages 0-5 in every zip code in the state.
For many years, Four Rivers Family Early Learning and Parenting Hub has partnered with The Next Door, Inc. and Play & Learn @ Home to support the Dolly Parton Imagination Library program that provides free books to families with children ages 0-5 in Wasco, Hood River, Sherman, Gilliam, and Wheeler counties.
The program's mission is to inspire a love of reading by providing universal access to free, high-quality, and age-appropriate books each month for children ages 0-5, regardless of family income. The program operates in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia and Republic of Ireland.
The Hub is excited to continue working with our partners to foster a love of reading among our region's children.
